Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to secure their IPL final berth, this time courtesy the exploits of Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan. In the qualifier 2 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Friday, the 19-year-old played a cameo of 34 runs from just 10 balls to take his team to a respectable total of 174, and later returned with match figures of 3/19, to win his side the match. This effort from Rashid helped SRH beat KKR by 13 runs.
Cricketers from world over took notice of this performance and heaped praise on the youngster. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar too took to twitter and hailed Rashid’s efforts. He wrote, “Always felt @rashidkhan_19 was a good spinner but now I wouldn’t hesitate in saying he is the best spinner in the world in this format. Mind you, he’s got some batting skills as well. Great guy.”
