Admission into 1st semester class of MCA PROGRAMME 2018 of
a) ASSAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE, GUWAHATI,
b) JORHAT ENGINEERING COLLEGE, JORHAT AND
c) GIRIJANANDA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY, GUWAHATI as per the following schedule:
A. Submission of Online Applications:
a) Opening date: 31st May, 2018
b) Closing date: 15th June, 2018
B.Issue of Admit Cards Online -18th June, 2018 onwards till the day of examination
C. Date of Examination - 8th July, 2018 (Sunday), Time: 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
D. Declaration of Result - On or before 16th July, 2018
An Application Fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One thousand only) is to be paid online using “State Bank Collect” which facilitates payment through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Payment may also be made at any Branch of State Bank of India after generating the Cash Deposit Form from “State Bank Collect” in the final step of online application. ASTU shall not accept hard copy of the Application and any other documents.
Admit Cards/Hall Tickets may be downloaded from the website by putting the Application Number and Date of Birth of the Candidate from 18th June, 2018.
Eligibility for appearing the Joint MCA Entrance Examination:
a) Age between 20 years to 26 years on 1st day of July 2018
b) Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of Minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation. The candidate must pass Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or at Graduation.
c) A minimum of 50% marks must be scored in the Qualifying Degree Examination (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category)
Candidates appearing in their final examination may also apply. Provisional admission shall be permitted provided that student gives an undertaking that he/she shall be able to provide final mark sheet/ certificate of qualifying examination within 2 months of taking admission failing which the admission of the student shall automatically stand cancelled. Candidates seeking provisional admission shall have to clear all subjects upto 5th Semester in degree level. These students will have to produce all mark sheets up to 5th semester for verification during Counseling.
Mode of Selection:
a) There will be Joint Admission Examination for Selection consisting of a Single
Paper of 3 hours duration, which will consist of the following Sections:
i) Mathematics: 30 Questions
ii) Reasoning: 30 Questions
iii) English: 20 Questions
iv) Fundamentals of Computing : 20 Questions
b) Questions will be MCQ type. Every Question will carry 4 (four) mark each. 4
(four) marks will be awarded for correct answer and 1 (one) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
